Disciplines Tab
Use the System Configuration Disciplines tab to determine which disciplines are used in active projects and opportunities.
The list of disciplines is imported from the accounting system.
To access this tab
In Project Analyzer, click File and select System Configuration. On the System Configuration window, click the Disciplines tab.
Disciplines
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Sets the selected discipline as active. Active disciplines appear in the Discipline column in Project Analyzer. |
| Vision Key | The accounting system code for the discipline. This value is read-only and cannot be edited. |
| Name | The name of the discipline. The initial value is imported from the accounting system, but can be changed for use in Project Analyzer as needed. Changes made in Project Analyzer do not affect the accounting system. |
| Abbrev. | The abbreviation used for the discipline in Project Analyzer. These abbreviations are used as column headers on the Labor Budget tab. |
| Default Rate | The default hourly labor rate for the discipline. Enter the appropriate value. This rate is only used if an office-specific rate for the discipline is not set on the Office Labor Rates tab. This rate is also utilized if performing top-down planning on the Labor Budget tab. |
| Currency | The currency type for the discipline's labor rate. Select the appropriate currency from the drop-down list. The Currency column only displays when a multi-currency database is in use. |
| Order | Sets the display order for the roles in Project Analyzer. |
| Opportunities | Determines whether or not the discipline appears is available when working with opportunities. Select the check-box to make the discipline available in opportunity effort types. |
