Ribbon Bar: Tasks Tab
The Tasks tab of the ribbon bar is only available when the main Tasks tab is active in Project Analyzer. It provides the user with additional tools for managing project tasks.
Some options available on the Team tab vary depending on whether Active Projects or Active Opportunities are selected in the project list. If an option is only available for Active Projects or Active Opportunities, it is noted below.
Additional effort types (i.e., Active Marketing and Active Overhead) share the same options as Active Projects.
Load/Import
Load Task Template
Opens the Load Task Template dialog box, which allows project mangers to import a list of existing tasks from another project or opportunity to the current project or opportunity. This can save a significant amount of time in having to manually recreate tasks that are commonly used within the company's projects.
Import from Financials (only available when Active Projects is selected in the project list)
Opens the Import Tasks from Financial System dialog box, which allows users to load project tasks from the accounting system resource plan for the project, if it exists. The dialog box also allows for the deletion of existing task data during import.
Tasks
Multi-Edit
Opens the Multi-Edit dialog box, which allows multiple data grid rows to be edited at one time. Select the rows to be edited and click Multi-Edit to access the Multi-Edit dialog box.
Plan Status
Indicates the current project plan status (Open, Approved, Ready for Approval). The status is helpful for reporting purposes and to control if further edits can be made to the plan.
Administrators set the values for Plan Status on the Options Text tab in System Configuration. They can also set whether or not a plan is locked when it is in a certain status.
Plan Status is grayed out when working with an active opportunity.
