Ribbon Bar: Team Tab

The Team tab of the ribbon bar is only available when the main Team tab is active in Project Analyzer. It provides the user with additional tools for managing project team member assignments.

Some options available on the Team tab vary depending on whether Active Projects or Active Opportunities are selected in the project list. If an option is only available for Active Projects or Active Opportunities, it is noted below.

Additional effort types (i.e., Active Marketing and Active Overhead) share the same options as Active Projects.

Team

This section includes options related to project team member assignments.

Import from Financials (only available when Active Projects is selected in the project list)

Opens the Import Assignments from Financial System dialog box, which allows users to load team assignments from the accounting system resource plan for the project, if it exists. The dialog box also allows for the deletion of existing assignment data during import.

Show Expanded Detail

Opens the Show Expanded Detail - Timesheet Detail dialog box. It displays timesheet records for the current project including any comments made on timesheets. The information comes from the accounting system and is read-only.

Show Assignment Conflicts

Opens the Team Assignment Conflicts dialog box. It displays details about potential conflicts between the selected employee's current assignment and other overlapping project and opportunity assignments.

Multi-Edit

Opens the Multi-Edit dialog box, which allows multiple data grid rows to be edited at one time. Select the rows to be edited and click Multi-Edit to access the Multi-Edit dialog box.

Team Builder

Opens the Team Builder dialog box, which allows project managers to quickly build project teams by allowing them to make multiple resource assignments at the same time. Entries made in the Team Builder dialog box appear in the Team tab data grid.

Recalculate Costs

This option allows the user to recalculate planning rate calculations on the Team tab when changes are made that affect the underlying cost values. For example, recalculate costs should be performed when:

Annual planning rate increases are made

Changes to the timeframe of the project are made

Adjustments to the hours are made

Clicking Recalculate Costs updates the planning rate calculations for affected team assignments as follows:

No changes are made to past assignments.

Future assignments are changed and highlighted in blue for review. The user then has the option to save the changes.

Current (in progress) assignments are highlighted in yellow but are not changed.

Allow Inter-Office Staffing

Use this tool to control the team members that are added to a project.

If the setting to allow inter-office staffing has been disabled at the global level, this option is not available.

Mark the checkbox to create staffing assignments for employes from offices other than the office responsible for managing the current project.

Employee Filter

Use this feature to limit the number of entries in the Employees column. There are three options available:

No Filter - All of the employee entries are available.

By Discipline - When selected, only entries that match the discipline of the selected record are available in the Employees column.

By Role -When selected, only entries that match the role of the selected record are available in the Employees column. For example, set the role to Principal in Charge. When you click in the Employees column, only staff assigned as Principal in Charge will display.

Plan Status

Use this feature to indicate the status of the project plan. Depending on the status, the plan may be locked and users cannot make changes.

Administrators set the values for Plan Status on the Options Text tab in System Configuration. They can also set whether or not a plan is locked when it is in a certain status.
