Business Development Tab
The Business Development tab is used to track general information about a potential project or opportunity. Like active projects, opportunities originate in your financial system.
The Business Development tab is only available when working with opportunities.
Number / Name
The opportunity's number from the financial system and the project name. Project managers can edit the name as needed.
Client Project Number
The client project number assigned to the opportunity.
Group
The group to which the opportunity is assigned. The available values come from the financial system.
Principal
The principal assigned to the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Profit Center
The profit center to which the opportunity is assigned. The available values come from the financial system.
Source
The source that generated the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Client
The client for the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Primary Contact
The primary contact for the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Secondary Contact
The secondary contact for the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Project Manager
The project manager assigned to the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Project Type
The project type assigned to the opportunity. The available values come from the financial system.
Owner Total Cost
The total cost of the opportunity for the owner. The project manager enters the value.
Building Budget
The amount budgeted for building costs associated with the opportunity. The project manager enters the value.
Building Area (s.f.)
The total square feet of building area planned for the opportunity. The project manager enters the value.
Cost per sq. Foot
The cost per square foot of the building planned for the opportunity. The value is calculated by dividing the Building Budget value by the Building Area (s.f.) value.
Opportunity Active
This checkbox is used to identify the opportunity as active. Un-checking the box will cause the opportunity to be removed from the project list but not deleted.
Request as Active Project
Click Request as Active Project button to open the New Project Request dialog box and request that the financial system administrator create an active project for this opportunity.
The request is sent to the email address set in the NewProject Request field configured on the System Configuration General Settings tab.
Date Opened
The date the opportunity was opened. The project manager enters the value.
Date Closed
The date the opportunity was closed. The project manager enters the value.
RFQ Release Date
The RFQ release date for the opportunity. The project manager enters the value.
Project Funded
When selected, indicates the project described by the opportunity has been funded.
Submitted Proposal
When selected, indicates that a proposal for a project based on the opportunity has been submitted.
Included on Shortlist
When selected, indicates that the opportunity is on a shortlist of potential projects.
Interviewed
When selected, indicates that an interview related to the opportunity has been conducted. Typically this means that the AE firm has been interviewed by their potential client for the job. The project manager selects the date of the interview from the drop-down list that appears when the checkbox is selected.
Mark Reviewed
The Mark Reviewed button sets the review date for the opportunity to the current date. The date to the right of this button indicates the date when this opportunity was last reviewed. The date will be updated whenever the Mark Reviewed button is clicked or if any of the associated status data is updated elsewhere in the opportunity.
If 90 days pass without being marked as reviewed and the schedule and fee have not been modified, the text background will turn red.
Latest Status
The current status for the opportunity. Latest Status is derived from the information on the Schedule tab and Contract / Fees tab.
If the anticipated start date is less than 90 days away the text background will be turned red.
Result
The result of the opportunity. The list of available values comes from the financial system.
Result Notes
Any notes related to the result.
Description
A description of the opportunity. The project manager enters this information.
Indirect
When selected, indicates the project is a non-billable effort type.
