Place a Phase on Hold
Perform the following steps to place a project phase on hold. For more information, refer to Place a Project on Hold.
To place a phase on hold
Be sure that the row is highlighted, as shown in this image. Left-click on any of the fields in the row to select it. A small black arrow head will appear next to the row indicating it is the active row.
The end date must be greater than or equal to the start date.
Click OK to review the changes. The changes on the Schedule tab are highlighted in blue. Click Save Current View to save the changes.
Click OK to preview the changes the team assignments on the Team tab . Click Save Current View to save the changes.
Best Practice: Mark only the Adjust Phase Dates checkbox and click OK. The changes on the Schedule tab are highlighted in blue. The project manager can review the changes, then click Save Current View to save the changes. Once the changes are saved, the project manager can make changes to the project team assignments as needed by selecting the phase that has the hold applied. Select Phase Hold to edit the phase hold settings. Mark the Adjust Team Assignments checkbox and click OK. The Team tab opens with the affected records highlighted in blue. Verify the changes, then click Save Current View to save the changes.
At any point there are unsaved changes, you can click Discard Changes to revert to the original values.
